These Terms & Conditions apply when you visit the Tessera website or purchase a Tessera product. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. About Tessera

Tessera creates hand-set glass coasters in Thornbury, Victoria.

2. Handmade products

Each Tessera coaster is set and finished by hand. Small variations in tile placement, grout, colour, texture and finish are part of the handmade nature of the product and are not considered faults.

We make every reasonable effort to display product colours accurately. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting and natural variations between materials.

3. Orders

An order is confirmed once full payment has been received and an order confirmation has been issued.

Please check your order details and delivery address carefully. If something is incorrect, contact us as soon as possible. Once production has begun, we may be unable to change or cancel your order.

Tessera may cancel and refund an order if:

• A product or material is unexpectedly unavailable.
• We cannot complete the order within a reasonable timeframe.
• A genuine pricing or website error has occurred.
• We reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.

4. Made-to-order products

Unless otherwise stated, Tessera products are made to order.

Production timeframes displayed on the website are estimates and begin once payment and any required order details have been received.

Because each piece is made specifically for your order, we do not accept cancellations, returns or refunds for change of mind after production has begun.

This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged or does not match its description.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are displayed in Australian dollars. Any applicable GST is included unless clearly stated otherwise. Delivery charges are displayed separately at checkout.

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

Tessera does not directly store your complete card or banking details. Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider.

6. Promotions and discount codes

Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to any conditions stated with the offer. Unless otherwise stated:

• Only one discount code may be used per order.
• Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively.
• Promotions may end once the stated period has expired or available stock has been allocated.

7. Product care

Tessera coasters are made with durable epoxy grout and can be scrubbed under running water when needed. For best results:

• Clean with mild dish soap and a cloth, sponge or brush.
• Do not place in the dishwasher.
• Do not submerge or leave the coaster soaking.
• Avoid leaving the underside wet for extended periods, as this may loosen the feet.
• Dry the coaster thoroughly after washing.
• Protect it from drops and heavy impacts.
• Stop using the coaster if the glass becomes cracked, chipped or broken.

Damage caused by incorrect care, misuse, dropping or ordinary wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing fault.

8. Website information

We try to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, prices and availability are accurate. Occasionally, information may contain an error.

If an error affects your order, we will contact you before fulfilling it. You may choose to proceed with the corrected information or cancel the affected item for a full refund.

9. Intellectual property

All Tessera designs, photographs, graphics, written content, branding and other original website material belong to Tessera unless otherwise stated.

This material may not be reproduced, copied, modified, sold or used commercially without prior written permission.

10. Privacy

We collect and use personal information to process orders, arrange delivery, provide customer service, operate our website and send marketing communications where you have agreed to receive them.

11. Australian Consumer Law

Tessera products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

If a product is faulty, unsafe, significantly different from its description or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or another remedy depending on the circumstances.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Shipping and returns

Production, delivery, cancellations, damaged orders and returns are governed by our separate Shipping & Returns Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply from the date they are published and will not retrospectively alter an order already accepted.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction in Victoria, subject to any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
